**Ballet II technique is an hour and a half; the additional half hour is for level II girls undertaking pre-pointe work. Each level II student must enroll in the Tuesday class, and must also choose either the Friday or Saturday class, for a minimum of two classes weekly; if one of these classes has low enrollment, it will be cancelled and combined with the other class.
The Artistic Director may require new students to attend a special class at the beginning of the term to determine the appropriate placement. It will sometimes be suitable for a student to stay in a lower level, but take one class weekly in the next highest level, until the student is ready to move on in earnest. Advancing to the next level will occur only at the discretion of the Artistic Director, after careful evaluation of the student's progress and abilities.
